This project brings affordable homes to the Waconia community with idyllic views overlooking Interlaken Park. We are proud to have provided full site services for Trails Edge South, including surveying, civil engineering, and landscape design. A central focus of our site planning was maximizing the development's footprint to balance residential needs with the creation of meaningful outdoor spaces for the community.

To achieve this, we utilized an advanced underground stormwater management system. By placing this infrastructure beneath the surface, we freed up valuable ground-level acreage that would have otherwise been dedicated to traditional retention ponds. This engineering solution allowed us to maximize the usable land and deliver a generous suite of resident amenities that seamlessly integrate with the natural surroundings.

Our landscape design capitalizes on this maximized footprint to enhance the daily lives of residents while connecting them directly to the local environment. We created a beautifully landscaped playground, a community patio positioned to take full advantage of the scenic park views, and a direct public trail connection. Through careful site planning and multidisciplinary coordination, we were able to deliver a project that beautifully demonstrates how innovative infrastructure choices can elevate residential amenity spaces.
